When her roommate is outed to his family, a queer woman named Margot is forced to spend the evening with his disgruntled sister Gabi, discovering just how deep the family’s internalized homophobia runs. As the night progresses, Margot and Gabi test each other’s perspectives on family, queerness and the ethics behind outing. Much to Margot’s surprise, Gabi begins to flirt with her. The power in the apartment goes out, and seizing the opportunity, Gabi makes a move.

Set in Toronto during a torrential rain storm, ‘I Only Kiss In The Dark’ is a dramatic short about the performative behaviour of queer sexuality, and the innate need to control the narrative on how we are perceived.
